To give my poor battered feet a rest from yesterday’s treadmill ordeal, I decided to explore the city today with Christine. We discovered Bouchon Bakery in the Time Warner building at Columbus Circle and tried their vanilla and chocolate macarons($3 each) which unfortunately were not as tasty as we hoped. The crusts were well-made but the filling tasted like a slab of cold unsweetened butter. I wouldn’t recommend getting the macarons, on the other hand, their chocolate-chip cookie was quite the treat.
We ended the day at Chinatown with an order of e-fu noodles and sliced fish congee at Yogee Restaurant near Grand Street station.
